Features of Happy Feet Vinyl Plank Flooring
The best perk of using Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring is the way it looks and the way it enhances the beauty of your house. Other than the outer beauty, Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring also has some alluring features to maintain and sustain in your house.
As we know, sustainability is the only way to judge the quality of a product, let’s see how Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring would make the perfect fit in your house.
- Thickness
The most important part of flooring planks is their thickness. The thickness determines how efficient the product can be.
Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring comes with a thickness of 5 and a half millimeters. It is more than the standard thickness. The thickness of the plank determines the durability of it to stick to the floor and crack that easily unless an extremely strong external force hits it.
When you start using it, you would realize how flexible it is to walk around with it. Even when you are placing it on your floor, you would get to notice that the planks sit perfectly on the floor without any sort of hassle.
- Durable Surface Wear Layer
The more the wear layer of the plank, the more it has a chance to get damaged easily.
Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring comes with 22 millimeters of the surface wear layer.
The job of the wear layer is to make sure the planks are smoothly fitted to the floor or not. It makes the plank more durable than it already is.
The wear layer of Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring is clearly visible if you hold it beside a regular plank. You can easily identify the clear layer of the surface wear layer.
This protects your floor and plank from scratches or any harm to the outer look of your floor.
- Waterproof
Another outstanding quality of the Happy Feet Vinyl flooring is, that it is waterproof. Many kinds of floorings like laminate floors or even tiles are not waterproof they advertise.
But this is not the same with the Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring. It actually is waterproof.
Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring is composed of PVC, which is mostly the reason behind it being waterproof. Although variations may come due to its installations. Because after installations it might leave seams between the tiles.
Happy feet vinyl plank flooring is waterproof but it would be good for garages or stores as water accumulation may cause it to grow molds or fungus in the planks. Kitchen, bathrooms, living room, etc are the best places for these planks as the chances of getting damp in these places are lower.
- Anti-slip
One more amazing feature of these Happy Feet vinyl floor is that it is anti-slip. This means the floors are not slippery and you won’t easily fall down as you might on the tiles. This feature of the planks is due to the resin finish of the vinyl floors.
Also, the vinyl finish makes it anti-slippery and gives it a rubber-like texture. The rubber-like texture creates friction and prevents the floor to become non-slippery.
Anti-slip coatings are used in Happy Feet Vinyl plank floorings to increase the slip resistance in them but do not hamper the original look of the floor.
They usually use the floor grip roll-on as the anti-slippery coating which is very easy to use and also a very cost-efficient product.
- Anti-microbial
Happy Feet Vinyl plank flooring comes with antimicrobial coatings as well. It does not easily get mold growth or fungus attack unless it is extremely damp.
Even when left for several days these floorings would not damage unless dampness prevails on them. Some protective coatings are used in these planks to repel microorganisms and become antimicrobial.
Zinc pyrithione, isothiazolinone, and silver are the commonly used antimicrobial additives in the Happy Feet vinyl plank floorings.
So, you don’t have to worry about microbial attacks on these floors and you won’t even need to keep them under high maintenance and clean it thoroughly every day.

What Could’ve Been Better With Happy Feet Flooring?
Although Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring seems to be a fine product for you to use in your house, adding some more features to it would have enhanced its performance and quality as well.
- Underpad
Underpads are an extra layer of coating that has to be laid on the floor before placing the planks. It is a kind of a second layer of padding put underneath the planks.
By reducing floor pressure and tension, underpads assist in preventing skidding on the floor and maintaining the carpet’s condition.
Some planks come with the underpad beforehand. Having an underpad beneath would ensure more durability of the product. Not having one does not make it less efficient though.
But having one would definitely increase its efficiency and take a lot less time to install properly.
- Scratch
Although it says on the packaging of the product that it is anti-scratch, it is not entirely true. The resin coating may prevent the plank to get scratched easily but it does get scratched anyways.
This is due to the rubber-like texture of the floor. So, once it gets scratched, it cannot be repaired that easily. Sometimes you would also need to change the flooring entirely to repair it.
Any extra coating or padding to prevent this would help the product to become more efficient. It already is so hyped in the market, that this extra feature would enhance the product even more than it already is.
- Amount of Plastic
Happy Feet vinyl plank flooring is made of 100% plastic. Although plastic is the material making this product more durable and resistant to moisture, it nit eco-friendly.
Plastics are naturally not eco-friendly and in addition to that, vinyl floors emit a high amount of VOCs or Volatile Organic Compounds which are toxic to nature and also to living beings.
That is the only big drawback of the product and without it, it can be considered one of the best products on the market.

Happy shopping!
We chose a LVP for our flooring through the builder. We were in our home 2 years and all of the flooring started buckling or cupping up along all the edges. We called to find some answers and complain about this flooring not holding up and then found it is by Happy Feet. After months of waiting to have the floor checked there was no reason given as to why this flooring has done this. We are both retired and do not have any pets. Flooring is applied over slab cement. It has been checked for moisture and that is not the problem. They can give us no reason as to why the entire floor is buckling up like it is with such minimal wear. We have to have the floor replaced already. I would not get Happy Feet again for my flooring. I do not trust the quality of their product.
Hi Cathy, I’m thinking about Happy Feet Titan glue down LVP which is pretty thick at 4.5mm, which product did you use. I was told by my contractor to use Karndean K-99HM Adhesive which is the best on concrete being very water proof. What did they use on your installation, any response would be appreciated…..Dennis
Thanks for your comment, because of that I got the K-99HM adhesive for my floor project and Happy Feet 4.5mm qlue down/loose lay on concrete slab. I have a very good installer coming who recommended what ever LVP I choose but would only use the Karndean adhesive.
